Here's my Michael Jackson memory, because I have one.
When I was 7 I was absolutely obsessed with Free Willy. I loved everything about the movie, wanted to be a whale trainer, wanted to free a captive whale, fucking everything. I was out of my mind with Free Willy. One day my mom bought me the tape of the soundtrack, and every day I would play the tape on the downstairs stereo while I did my homework after school, rewinding and repeating "Will You Be There" over and over and over. My brother got so fed up one day that he started screaming at me and my mom had to intervene.
